Cottages and waterfront in The North Shore
The Township of The North Shore was incorporated in 1978 and takes its name from its place on the north shore of the North Channel. Its communities are strung along Highway 17, including Algoma Mills, Spragge and Serpent River, where Highway 108 turns north to Elliot Lake. Lauzon Lake, just inland from Algoma Mills, has the main cluster of cottages and lake homes. Other properties face the channel itself, with its islands and sheltered bays.
