Jocelyn Township was incorporated in 1886 and covers the rural southwest part of St. Joseph Island. Kentvale, on the boundary with St. Joseph Township, is its main community. Others include Beech Beach, Carterton, Outlook and Tenby Bay. Fort St. Joseph, built by the British in 1796, is at the island's southern tip. Buyers find shoreline cottages, wooded acreage and very little traffic. Supplies come from Richards Landing.
