Cottages and waterfront in Saugeen Shores
Saugeen Shores is the largest community on the Bruce County lakeshore, and its population roughly doubles in summer with cottagers and campers. Port Elgin has a long sand beach and a harbour with 274 slips. Southampton, at the mouth of the Saugeen River, is known for its beach, historic main street and the Chantry Island lighthouse offshore. West-facing beaches mean sunsets over the lake. MacGregor Point Provincial Park is just south of Port Elgin. Both towns have full services.
