Plan the drive around the open doors
A cottage open house usually lasts a couple of hours, and the property may be a long drive from home. Seeing two or three in one trip takes planning, so this page gathers the public open houses for the cottages and waterfront homes on Cottage Connect and sorts them by date, from the Kawarthas and Lake Simcoe to Muskoka, the Ottawa Valley and beyond.
A cottage raises questions a city house does not: how the road is maintained in winter, what shape the septic system and well are in, whether the strip of shoreline in front is actually part of the property, and what you are allowed to build at the water. Dates are public. The exact times are shared with members of The Inner Circle, our free membership, which also opens up sold history on this site. Open houses are posted by the listing brokerages and can change or be cancelled, which is why the schedule refreshes through the day.
