Cottages and waterfront in Espanola
Espanola was incorporated in 1958 and grew up around a pulp and paper mill at a falls on the Spanish River. It is the last full-service town before Manitoulin Island, so many island cottagers shop here on the way. Waterfront in and around town is mostly on the Spanish River. The west end of Lake Panache is a short drive away, and Highway 6 leads south through the La Cloche hills to Little Current.
