About Cottage Connect

Cottages for sale across Ontario cottage country

Cottage Connect is a real estate site built around one kind of property. That covers waterfront cottages, cabins, log homes, ski chalets, island properties and vacant waterfront land, so you never have to scroll past subdivisions and condo towers to find a place on the water.

Most searches start with a place. The regions buyers ask about most are Muskoka, Haliburton Highlands, Kawartha Lakes, Georgian Bay & Simcoe County, Parry Sound & Almaguin and Prince Edward County. Each region page breaks down into towns and lakes, with a plain description of what the shoreline and the drive are like.

With a cottage, the lake matters as much as the building. Frontage, shoreline, exposure, road access and the septic all affect what you pay and how you use the place, so our buyer guides explain them in plain language before you book a showing.

Browse for as long as you like. When you want to see a cottage in person, ask about a lake or find out what your own place would sell for, call, text or use live chat. A cottage specialist answers.

Common questions

What kinds of property are on Cottage Connect?

Recreational property across Ontario: waterfront cottages and homes, cabins, log homes, ski chalets, island and water access cottages, resort condos, fractional ownership and vacant waterfront or rural land.

Which areas does Cottage Connect cover?

All of Ontario cottage country, organized into 20 regions: Muskoka, Haliburton, the Kawarthas, Georgian Bay, Parry Sound, the Bruce Peninsula, Prince Edward County, the Rideau Lakes, the Ottawa Valley, the Lake Huron and Lake Erie shores and the near north.

What is the difference between a seasonal and a four-season cottage?

A four-season cottage is insulated, has a heated water line and sits on a road that is plowed in winter. A seasonal cottage is used from about May to October and closed for the winter. The difference affects price, financing and insurance.

Do I need an account to browse?

No. Every region, town and lake page is open. A free account opens the full details and photos for each listing, and lets you save searches and get new listings by email.
