What Lake Huron is like
The Ontario shore of Lake Huron is known for sand beaches, shallow swimming and sunsets over open water. In Bruce County the main cottage areas are Point Clark, Lurgan Beach and Bruce Beach in Huron-Kinloss, Kincardine and Inverhuron, Port Elgin and Southampton, then Sauble Beach, Oliphant, Red Bay and Stokes Bay on the peninsula. Farther south, the shore continues through Huron and Lambton counties. Most cottages have road access, and beach communities are busy in summer and quiet in winter.
