What Boat Lake is like
Boat Lake has an unusual history. It was drained in the 1920s and flooded again in the 1960s by a dam, so standing dead trees still mark parts of the lake. It is shallow and popular with anglers and with paddlers on the Rankin River canoe route, which ends at the dam. Cottages and rural homes are found near Oliphant Road. Wiarton, Oliphant and Sauble Beach are all a short drive away.
