What Lake Nipissing is like
Lake Nipissing is about 65 km long and up to 25 km wide, yet its average depth is only about 4.5 m. North Bay is on the northeast shore. Sturgeon Falls, Cache Bay and Lavigne are toward the west end. Callander and the south shore are in Parry Sound District. The shallow water creates sandbars and warms quickly. Fishing lodges sit on the shore and on islands. Walleye, bass, pike and muskie draw anglers in summer and winter.
