What Lake Temagami is like
Lake Temagami covers about 210 square kilometres and stretches almost 50 km from north to south, with long arms reaching out in several directions. Cottages and lodges have been limited to the islands since 1901, so the mainland stays forested. The lake has several hundred cottages, youth canoe camps and commercial lodges. Temagami Island is the largest, and the Temagami First Nation community is on Bear Island. Access is by boat from mainland landings or from the town.
