What Aylen Lake is like
Aylen Lake is one of the main cottage lakes in South Algonquin and has a small community of the same name. It lies north of Highway 60, in forested Shield country near the southeast side of Algonquin Park. Cottages are spread along the shore, and the setting is quiet and wooded. There are few services at the lake. Owners usually shop in Barry's Bay, which has a hospital, groceries and hardware, or pick up basics in Madawaska or Whitney.
