What Whitefish Lake is like
Whitefish Lake is the first lake south of the Jones Falls locks. It has about 28 km of shoreline and averages under 3 m deep. Hills and cliffs rise on the west side, and cottages are scattered along both shores. Morton Bay, a deep, sheltered arm, leads to the granite summit of Rock Dunder, which is protected by a land trust and has a hiking trail. Seeleys Bay, a little farther along the canal, has docks and a boat ramp.
