What Clear Lake is like
Clear Lake is a short link in the canal route, but it is the deepest of the three lakes between Newboro and Chaffeys Lock, at about 34 m. The Elbow, a tight natural channel, joins it to Newboro Lake, and a second short channel leads to Indian Lake. Shoreline is mostly private with moderate cottage development, and a cliff on the south shore is a well-known swimming spot. Newboro and Chaffeys Lock are both a short boat ride away.
