What Newboro Lake is like
Newboro Lake has about 43 km of shoreline and many islands, with old cottages on both the islands and the mainland. About half the lake has cottage development and the rest is still natural, including shallow, weedy back bays at the east end. The deepest water is about 26 m. Newboro lock, on the isthmus at the village, lifts boats to Upper Rideau Lake. A narrow passage called the Elbow leads to Clear Lake. Newboro has long-running fishing lodges.
