What Opinicon Lake is like
Opinicon Lake is up to 7.5 km long and quite shallow, with a maximum depth of about 8 m. Boats enter from Indian Lake through Chaffeys Lock and leave for Sand Lake through Davis Lock. Chaffeys Lock is the hub, a small cottage and tourist community built around the historic Opinicon resort. Large tracts of shoreline belong to the Queen's University Biological Station, which keeps parts of the lake undeveloped. The warm water is well suited to bass and panfish.
