What Round Lake is like
Round Lake lies close to the east side of Algonquin Park. The Bonnechere River flows in at the northwest and out at the southeast, and the lake reaches about 55 m deep. Bonnechere Provincial Park is on the northwestern shore and Foy Provincial Park is on the east. Three islands in the lake are privately owned. A hydro dam built downstream in the 1920s raised the water level. Cottages are mostly traditional and family owned. Killaloe is the nearest village.
