What Centennial Lake is like
Centennial Lake lies directly upstream of Black Donald Lake and sits at the same water level. The Madawaska River flows from one into the other, so the two work as a single long boating route. The setting is remote, with forested hills, rock points and long distances between cottages. Griffith and Matawatchan are the local hamlets, with only basic supplies. Owners usually stock up in Renfrew or Calabogie. Water levels are managed for hydro power.
