What Calabogie Lake is like
Calabogie Lake is about 6.5 km long and 4 km wide. It is a natural lake that was enlarged when the Calabogie dam and generating station were built during the First World War. The village of Calabogie is at the river outlet, with Barryvale and Grassy Bay around the shore. Waterfront includes classic cottages, large newer homes and resort condominiums near the ski hill. Trails, golf and a motorsports park are close by. Ottawa is about an hour away.
