What Muskrat Lake is like
Muskrat Lake is about 16 km long, covers 1,219 hectares and reaches about 64 m deep. Cobden is the main community on the shore, and the lake has more than 300 lakefront properties and two private campgrounds. The Muskrat River flows out toward Pembroke and the Ottawa River. Anglers fish for walleye, lake trout, pike and bass, and Cobden hosts a large ice fishing derby each winter. Algae blooms have been a recurring issue, so ask about current water quality.
