What Kamaniskeg Lake is like
Kamaniskeg Lake is about 13 km long, up to 6 km wide and about 40 m deep. The Madawaska River enters from the west and leaves at the southeast. The shore is forest with both rock and sand beaches, and cottages range from small camps to large year-round homes. Much of the southern part of the lake is in Hastings Highlands. Divers visit the wreck of the paddle steamer Mayflower, which sank in 1912. Barry's Bay has a hospital.
