Cottages and waterfront in Laurentian Hills
Laurentian Hills was formed in 2000 from the village of Chalk River and the surrounding united townships. It surrounds the town of Deep River and follows the Ottawa River to Rolphton. The river is broad and deep here, with the forested Laurentian hills of Quebec on the far shore. Cottages and year-round homes sit on river bays such as Meilleurs Bay and on a few inland lakes. Deep River is the nearest place for groceries and a hospital.
