Cottages and waterfront in Tay Valley
Tay Valley holds more cottage lakes than any other part of Lanark County. The township was formed in 1998 from Bathurst, North Burgess and South Sherbrooke and took its present name in 2002. Its lakes sit on Canadian Shield rock, with thin soil, exposed granite and irregular shorelines. Murphys Point Provincial Park is on Big Rideau Lake. Most lakes are 10 to 30 minutes from Perth for groceries. Several have no public launch, so access comes with the property.
