About the lake

What French River is like

The French River runs southwest from Lake Nipissing to Georgian Bay and is a Canadian Heritage River. It is often treated as the dividing line between Northern and Southern Ontario. French River Provincial Park, a waterway park, covers most of the shoreline, so private land is limited. What there is holds cottages, camps and fishing lodges, many reached only by boat from landings near Highway 69, Wolseley Bay or Hartley Bay.
