The Gull River arrives from Beech Lake, the Kennisis River drops over Buttermilk Falls from Halls Lake, and the Boshkung River comes in from Kushog Lake. The lake is about 5.7 km long and 71 m deep at its deepest known point. Water leaves through a narrows to Little Boshkung Lake. Carnarvon is just to the southeast.
