What Canning Lake is like
Canning Lake joins Kashagawigamog Lake at a narrows near Ingoldsby. It is the last lake in the five-lake chain, so owners can boat all the way to Haliburton village. Before the roads were finished in 1868, Canning and Kashagawigamog were the first water link between Minden and Haliburton. The lake is smaller and narrower than its neighbour. It is also the closest part of the chain to Minden.
