What Clayton Lake is like
Clayton Lake is the main cottage lake for Mississippi Mills. The Indian River flows in on the northwest side and leaves over the dam at Clayton, and the outflow of Taylor Lake joins it here. Large wild rice beds draw ducks and marsh birds, and the lake is well liked by paddlers. Cottages and year-round homes sit on the shore roads on both sides of the township line. A public launch with parking is at the dam.
