Cottages and waterfront in Augusta
Augusta was settled by Loyalists from 1784 and still has stone houses and churches along the old river road. Its waterfront is the St. Lawrence, downstream of the Thousand Islands, where the river is wide and open and ocean-going ships pass in the channel. Homes at Maitland, Riverview Heights and Blue Church make up most of the river frontage. The back of the township is farmland and the large Limerick Forest. Brockville and Prescott are each a few minutes away.
