What Niagara River is like
The Niagara River leaves Lake Erie at Fort Erie and runs about 58 km north to Lake Ontario, passing over Niagara Falls on the way. In Fort Erie the upper river is broad and fast, with homes facing the water across the Niagara Parkway, the scenic road that follows the Canadian bank. Boating is popular here, with a marina on the river. The current is strong, so it suits experienced boaters.
