What Grand River is like
The Grand River flows 280 km from its source near Dundalk to Lake Erie at Port Maitland. It is a Canadian Heritage River, and its lower reach in Haldimand County is wide and slow. Riverfront homes and cottages with docks are found around Dunnville, Byng and Port Maitland, and boats can run from the river mouth straight out to the lake. Upstream, Cayuga and Caledonia are older river towns with their own waterfront properties.
