What Peninsula Lake is like
Peninsula Lake lies just east of Huntsville and is split between the Town of Huntsville and the Township of Lake of Bays. It was named in 1853 for the two peninsulas on its north shore. A canal joins it to Fairy Lake, so boats can reach downtown Huntsville. The shore is mostly cottages and homes, along with several resorts and the Hidden Valley ski hill. Highway 60 follows the north side, which makes year-round access simple.
