What Chemong Lake is like
Chemong Lake is the closest of the Kawartha lakes to the City of Peterborough. It runs about 14 km from near Fowlers Corners north to Curve Lake, and is only about 1 km wide. The James A. Gifford Causeway carries the road between Bridgenorth and Ennismore. Water flows out through Harrington Narrows to Buckhorn Lake. Many of the homes here are lived in year round. It was officially called Mud Lake in the 1800s.
