What Chandos Lake is like
Chandos is the largest lake in the Crowe River watershed. It is shaped like a reversed L, with West Bay, South Bay and Gilmour Bay opening off the main lake. About 1,200 cottages line the shore, and there are three marinas and a public beach. County Roads 620 and 504 circle the lake, so most properties have road access. Apsley is the nearest village. The lake was called Loon Lake until 1937.
