Cottages and waterfront in Lakeshore

Lakeshore was incorporated in 1999 and is the largest municipality in Essex County. It sits on Lake St. Clair, not Lake Erie. Belle River is the main town, and the shore around it is lined with year-round lake homes, many with docks or canal access. Slow rivers such as the Belle, Puce and Ruscom drain north into the lake. Lighthouse Cove, at the mouth of the Thames River, is a boating community built on canals.
