Quinte West was formed in 1998 from Trenton, Frankford and the townships of Murray and Sidney. Trenton is the commercial centre and the starting point of the Trent-Severn Waterway. Waterfront comes in three kinds here. There are homes on the Bay of Quinte around Bayside, properties along the Trent River up to Frankford and Glen Ross, and cottages near Barcovan Beach on Wellers Bay. CFB Trenton is the largest local employer.
