Cottages and waterfront in Madoc
Madoc Township is separate from the village of Madoc, which belongs to Centre Hastings. The township claims the first gold rush in Ontario, at Eldorado in 1866. Today it is a mix of farms, forest and rural homes. O'Hara Mill Homestead and Conservation Area is a popular outing. Waterfront buyers focus on the Moira Lake area along Highway 62, where cottages and small resorts sit close to village shops.
