Hastings Highlands covers a large area north of Bancroft, formed in 2001 from the townships of Bangor, Wicklow and McClure, Herschel and Monteagle. Maynooth, where Highways 62 and 127 meet, is the commercial centre. This is the heart of North Hastings cottage country. Baptiste Lake draws the most buyers, and Papineau Lake, Lake St. Peter and Big Mink Lake are quieter choices. The east side reaches Kamaniskeg Lake.
