What East Lake is like
East Lake is separated from Lake Ontario by the sand bar that forms Outlet Beach in Sandbanks Provincial Park. A short river at the Outlet connects the two. The lake is shallow and warms up early, which makes it good for swimming, paddling and fishing. Cottages, family resorts and campgrounds line much of the shore. Cherry Valley is at the head of the lake and Picton is a short drive north.
