Cottages and waterfront in Athol
Athol is the south-central part of the County. Cherry Valley is the main hamlet, at the head of East Lake. The lake runs southwest to the Outlet, where Sandbanks Provincial Park has its long, shallow Outlet Beach. Cottages, campgrounds and resorts ring East Lake. Further south the land runs out to Salmon Point and Point Petre on open Lake Ontario, where the shore is rocky and much less built up.
