Waterfront here means Rice Lake and the Otonabee River, both on the Trent-Severn Waterway. Keene is the main village. Bailieboro is near the west end of the lake. Rice Lake is shallow, warm and known for fishing, and the shoreline has a mix of cottages, year-round homes and fishing resorts. Lang Pioneer Village is in the hamlet of Lang, and the Lang-Hastings rail trail passes through Keene.
