What Kempenfelt Bay is like
Kempenfelt Bay puts Lake Simcoe waterfront beside a city. Barrie sits at the head of the bay, with public beaches, a marina and the summer Kempenfest arts and crafts festival. The north shore runs through Shanty Bay in Oro-Medonte, and the south shore runs out to Big Bay Point in Innisfil. Waterfront homes are mostly year-round and close to Highway 400. It is the deepest bay on Lake Simcoe and usually freezes later than shallower parts of the lake.
