Minaki is about 45 minutes north of Kenora at the end of Highway 596, on a part of the Winnipeg River system that takes in Gun, Sand, Pistol and Roughrock lakes, while Longbow Lake to the east is home to Rushing River Provincial Park and Blue Lake Provincial Park sits north of Vermilion Bay.
