Dryden merged with the neighbouring township of Barclay when it became a city in 1998. It has the Dryden Regional Health Centre, a regional airport, a water aerodrome on Wabigoon Lake, and the shopping that nearby communities rely on. Thunder Lake and Aaron Provincial Park sit on its eastern edge.
