What Beaver River is like
The Beaver River rises on high ground near the Simcoe and Grey county line and flows west into Grey Highlands. It fills Lake Eugenia, drops over Eugenia Falls and then runs north through the Beaver Valley to Nottawasaga Bay at Thornbury. The river is a popular canoe route. Along the valley are riverfront farms, country homes and ski chalets around Kimberley and Heathcote. A fish ladder near Thornbury lets fish move upstream to spawn.
