Cottages and waterfront in Highlands East
Highlands East stretches along Highway 118 toward Bancroft. Its main communities are Wilberforce, Gooderham and Cardiff, each with basic services. The lakes here are mostly small to mid-sized, and the area is quieter than the lakes near Haliburton village. Part of the old Irondale, Bancroft and Ottawa Railway line is now a trail. Paudash Lake, on the eastern edge, is shared with the Bancroft area. Many buyers come here for more privacy.
