What Black Sturgeon Lake is like
The Black Sturgeon River runs through the lake and leaves at the north end over Black Sturgeon Rapids to reach the Winnipeg River. Highway 658 crosses the northern arm, and volunteers from the property owners' association look after the Thatcher Road boat launch area. In May 2022 high water on the Winnipeg River pushed back into the lake and the city ordered about 250 homes, some seasonal, to evacuate, so check a property's flood history before you buy.
